Minimal Gear is a small family-run business, based on over 20 years’ experience in the outdoors and beer-making industries.

Over the years, while making beer and spending time outdoors, we noticed that while there are fancy, detailed, expensive products and services, and cheap, overly-simplified and ultimately useless products and services, there are much fewer bits of gear and advice that sit in the happy medium: stripped of the unnecessary details, to-the-point, well-designed but not prohibitively expensive and ultimately, what we want for our own enjoyment in these areas.

We believe in honesty, responsibility and integrity in every aspect of what we do – from sourcing materials, building relationships with suppliers and customers, and making products that are safe, effective and useful. If we do not believe in any of these aspects of an idea, we will not engage. In these industries where we have a bit more knowledge than the average participant, we will strive to contribute as responsible businesspeople and providers of goods and services.
